Instant Outfit: Ruffled Skirt

What is it about fashion that cycles around and around? Each era, no matter how bad or how good, seems to spin around the cycle. I should swear off saying "this look will never return", because the moment the words have been uttered it pops back up. I find myself desiring a skirt, pants or shoes that I swore I would never dig out again.

This season has revived an era I once thought void of style - the 90's. Tiny print florals, combat boots - girly-grunge has spoken.

Instant Outfit explores the girly-grunge ruffled skirt.

Like you, I thought 90s fashion devoid of style. Watching My So-Called Life recently re-confirmed it.

At least this time around we're making it much more stylish.

Omigod! That's so true the 90's are back. I just realized it when I read it on your blog and all these fashion images started rushing to me! The thigh high socks (very cher and her gal pals in clueless). A million versions of Mary Janes, jelly shoes, and the ruffled skirts!

Where is that great khaki trench from? It's perfect!

G,

The khaki trench is burberry, but if you want to spend less $ try forever 21, they have a few styles that are similar!

Although I know the 90's are getting re-styled this time around, I've got to admit, the decade just seems to be a bit too recent still for me to be able to picture it being reinvented successfully.

You've done a far better job at it that I would EVER have imagined!

Since I live in Florida, and it is already almost up to the 90's here, I was wondering if you could do an instant outfit for hot weather. Its my first year in Florida and im having trouble dressing for the weather. Thanks.

i have that skirt too! i've been obsessively wearing it as a shirt though... it's a little too tiered to wear as a skirt on my body. i wish it only had two layers.
