Compiling my List

The weekend was spent under a feverish coma, and I am just now trying to come out of it. So, no fun weekend recap and no fun outfits to display.

Time in bed has given me a chance to catch up on all my magazine reading and I have started to compile a list of "things to look for in a thrift store".

There are times that I just pop into a thrift store with no agenda, but more times when I have a goal or goals in mind. It helps eliminate the overwhelming chaos that loads itself onto the racks.

Here are just a few of the items I will be hunting for in the weeks to come:

1. I am totally into the Marc Jacobs idea of underwear becoming outerwear - in a very tasteful, chic kind of way.
2. The hippie bohemian in me cannot resist searching high and low for perfect circle sunglasses, and I may just have to turn to ebay to find them.
3. Yes, the girly-grunge look has taken hold in my closet and it wouldn't be complete without black Doc Martens.
4. Bracelets, bracelets, bracelets - I have a new obsession with wearing loads of bracelets.

Glad you're feeling better! I'm loving the underwear as outerwear thing too, I'm on the look out for some singlets.

I'm gald to hear your feeling better! I know what you mean by needing an agenda at times. Thrifting can become a bit too overwhelming otherwise! Good luck with the hunt and with coming out of the fever! xx

glasses, more than often im hesitant to buy pricier shades, but my recent modest pair has lasted (ie. no lose tiny screws, and a sassy quiet animal jackie-O print) and Ilike them mucho: VonZipper.

Hmmm...I think making a list just might be a good idea. The last time I went to my favorite thrift store, I was not too pleased with the results. Will definately be adding bracelets to mine as well.

Hello My Sister,
I am soooo happy that you are kicking your illness. Now back to 'new is old', Marc Jacobs is only re-treading the camisole and corset look that was big time here in NYC about 15-20 years ago.
Here is a EASY tutorial for corsets for all of our sewing friends:

The thrift stores are chock full of them since our generation is about 2 sizes larger than they were in the '50's.

I am glad you all like the idea of compiling a list.. and thanks for all the tips as well.

Anonymous, I will have to check out H&M's stash of round sunglasses.

it's spelled "coma".
"comma" is the punctuation mark.

Cute stuff. I like the underwear as outerwear trend too. I just bought a great black and purple polka dot corset with adjustable straps for under $20 at H&M. And for Docs, the Rose Bowl Flea market has a great selection, and it's this Sunday :)
