New Finds, New Ideas

Welcome to the latest addition to The Vintage Society content! New finds will be discovered and and new ideas will inspire.

When I am up and out shopping, I start with perusing each rack and grab anything and everything that looks interesting. I don't put much thought into each item until I head to the dressing room. This is where the process of elimination begins - weeding out what doesn't suit me or isn't fabulous - once determined I head to the register and make my purchases.

The moment I step outside the door, my creativity takes over and I immediately begin to think, "What do I have in my closet to work with this skirt?", "What could inspire a few looks?"

The wheels are churning and now instead of all these ideas living in my mind.. I bring you...

New Finds, New Ideas..

This is a great idea! I work the same way. Especially when thrifting - I go to Value Village (a huge second hand department store chain in Canada) and load up my cart til it's overflowing - spend FOREVER in the change room and wind up leaving with 3 or 4 interesting pieces. I'm sure this new feature will give me plenty of inspiration!

cheers!

I'm loving this new addition to The Vintage Society. I've been trying to figure out new ways to wear the clothes I already have, so maybe this will inspire me a bit more to keep trying different things. I love it!

I too like to just grab whatever catches my eye. I even pick stuff that I wouldn't normally wear because you never know until you try it on. Sometimes a garment just needs some minor tweaking to make it look fabulous (shorten the skirt, take off the sleeves, etc). Also, if I find something that has an awesome print but fits weird, I cut it up and make a scarf. I adore your blog!

I love the creativity you express in putting clothes together! However, as a curvy woman I am wondering if their are any fashion tips you have in dressing with flair. Most of the example seem fit for the slim...even if your fit and curvy. Anywho...thanks for sharing your artistic eye with us!!

Hey thanks! I do believe, after reading through your blog, that there is HOPE for me and my wardrobe! I love old clothes, sorry, I mean vintage...and I'm so glad to find a site that celebrates them! Thanks!

I actually need to start doing that... I just shop for things I like, and then have a really hard time because I have no basics and nothing goes well with anything.

I'm going to start considering what would something go with before buying it.

I love the way you go thrifting-our charity shop changing rooms tend to be just for one person-two if you're lucky, so I think I would cause a very long queue-ha ha! Please feel free to stop by my blog-I love charity shops and boot sales and vintage fashion!!
