Weekend Recap: Best Find Ever

Two years ago I stumbled on one of the best finds EVER! Shopping at my local Savers (thrift store) I was at the checkout counter when I spotted it. There across the counter, behind the display cases hung this amazing faux fur vest. I seriously couldn't believe my luck, and even luckier when I found it was only $15! These moments are few and far between for any thrifter - yes, there are many times you find great pieces - but not a best find EVER.

After wearing it out, the season changed and it got stuffed in a "winter storage bin". Just this weekend I pulled out the bin and felt "the best find ever" deserved to take a spin. I remembered why I fell in love with it in the first place, and couldn't help but wear it twice.

Have you ever had a "best find EVER" moment?

I see why you love the vest, it is luxe and playful at the same time. I especially like it with the dress in the last photo.

Lordy Mercy - Yes! I clearly remember my first "best find ever" moment - it was 1982, in a no-name thrift shop that was just a tiny hole-in-the-wall dump of a place in the east village. Stuffed in with a rack of overcoats was a long Gunne Sax baby-blue prairie gown, tiered with miles and miles of soft sheer cotton skirts and matching lace trim. It was in mint condition, like it had never been worn - to top it off, it fit me perfectly. And it was priced at $8. Clearly, I was being blessed by the thrift goddesses.

I eventually out-grew the dress, but I had pretty much worn it out by then anyway. But I will always remember that "find".

I would like to make sweet, sweet love to that green jacket. It's amazing.

Don't you love those "I'M SO AWESOME" finds? Same thing happened to me with this amazing needlepoint purse, it's one of my favorite finds ever.

I love that vest. With the white dress its dreamy! My best find ever has to be (right now anyway) my Seven for all Mankind jeans, also behind the counter at my thrift store. Fit perfect and $20! You can see them here! http://stylesymmetry.com/?p=29

i tend to never be able to wear my find because they're too nice! i wear the shoes the most as they're so disposable and usually break after a few wears!
